Our Story

Our family was privileged to live in Haiti and help with schools and team from 1995 until 1997. While living there we fell in love with the Haitian people in our area. All of us felt sad when it was time to leave and return to the states.

Feeding the Children

However, on one of her return visits to Haiti, our daughter, Shelby, found two schools in much need of funds for providing meals for their children. The one meal that they receive at school is usually the only meal these children receive in a day.  We personally knew both pastors who were running these Christian schools (Pastor Marc and Pastor Petty Noelle) and we were excited to try to help these pastors feed thier school children a good meal a day.

Currently, we pay an overseer, Lussade Eugene and his family to take food to both of these schools each month. He checks on the children and teachers and delivers enough food to feed about 200 students daily for the month. The costs of feeding the children is approximately $4.00 per child, each month.

For the past year and a half, the money to cover this project has come from an account set up in honor of Shelby since this was so dear to her heart. This fund is quickly coming to an end, so if you would consider donating into the Haiti fund, please contact us and note that you would like your non-taxable gift to go for the children of Haiti.
