June 2017
Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him; bless His name.
For the Lord is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting,
and His faithfulness to all generations.
~ Psalms 100:4-5 ~
Dear Friends in Christ,
After writing the usual update on OSM last month, I was surprised, humbled and blessed when Holly sent May’s newsletter to me. My girls were very kind and gracious, but believe me, I fall down and the Lord picks me back up all the time. Ken and I were not sure about sending it, but we did, and were grateful for many of your kind responses. If my testimony can be an encouragement in Christ for anyone, praise Jesus!
In April, we shared with you about Kenny's return to Haiti. He went with John and Cliff out to Deye Mon to help with several building projects. The men had a lot to do in the few weeks they were there. They were there during Haiti’s rainy season. On some days they had to work in the rain, other times it rained so hard they had to wait it out. Despite these delays, they were grateful for all the work they were able to accomplish. Leaving Deye Mon, they had 3 new homes finished and the new guest house was almost done. After their departure it was quickly completed by Haitian workers and has already been used by a team!
When the work in Deye Mon was finished and the group returned to Merci Village in Grassier, they brought Woodsaiedmie and her Mom back to the village. They enjoyed their first visit back with their family since her surgery. Woodsaiedmie continues to get stronger and her legs are doing well.
On June 1st, Brother Ronald received his second batch of chicks. We put a short video on our facebook if you want to see them. They are growing quickly. Ronald feels blessed to be learning the process of the chicken business and hopes to share his experience with others.
With the work on the F-450 finally close to completion, Ken and Kenny decided to take the truck to Mexico to have the back bed painted. Kenny was very happy to get the truck to Mexico so Pastor Santos could pray over it. On his return from Mexico, he stopped by Carrizo Springs to show our dear friends, Ralph and Sue Wilson, the truck. This precious couple, retired missionaries who served in Guatemala, are very special to our family!
In early July, Kenny plans to drive the F-450 to Miami where he will put it on a ship to go to Haiti. Then he will fly there to stay. He and Laissa plan to be married in Haiti on August 12th. We have talked to an immigration attorney about Laissa. Once they are married, papers will be filed for a visa. It may take anywhere from 9-12 months for the visa to be approved. Until then, they will stay in Haiti, where they plan to live anyway. Please continue to pray for their wedding plans and that the visa will go through quickly. Kenny and Laissa are very grateful for your love and prayers on their behalf.
We would also like for you to be in prayer concerning funding for OSM. Our support has been down for some time, however with Kenny getting married and moving to Haiti full time, our expenses are increasing. Please pray about sharing our ministry with your church, Bible study groups and others so that we can get new families interested in joining us. We are always more than willing to come and share with people what God is doing through OSM!
We thank the Lord for each of you who receive and read our newsletters. Your encouragement is a great blessing to us. Our desire is to share Jesus Christ with the people God brings before us. May you also be blessed and encouraged as you follow and share the Lord!
In Christ,
