December 2011
Dear Friends in Christ,
Then He said to His disciples,
“The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into His harvest.”

Matthew 9:37-38
This month has gone by quickly. We enjoyed a visit from Pastor Isidro and his son, Eliezer. Pastor Isidro feels the Lord is leading him to begin a new work in Reynosa. He has been the head pastor for about 12 years at the church in which he currently serves, El Buen Pastor (The Good Shepherd). Under his leadership, the church has grown from very few attendees to over 600 people. He plans to begin working in an outlying, poorer area of Reynosa in the beginning of 2012. He and his family are excited about working in an area that has about 28 connecting colonias and only a few churches. Many of the parents work in factories and are not connected to a church. As a result, many unsupervised children are home alone. He has been asked by some of the factory leaders to begin an evangelism outreach among their workers. In his heart, Isidro feels this is a calling on his life. He has asked OSM to assist him in constructing a church building about the size of the Juan 3:16 Church in Nava. He believes that Reynosa is less dangerous now than it has been in the past and we could work there safely. We feel a project like this is way beyond our means right now, but we know that if God wants us involved, He will make it happen. If you or your church would be interested in assisting with a project like this, please let us know. We are asking you to be in prayer with us regarding the Lord’s will for OSM in this regard. We are seeking His clear direction, wisdom and provision if it is His will.
We are grateful for the response we received from the gift brochure we sent out in October. Unfortunately, we have not personally been able to deliver these gifts as of yet. Please continue praying that the safety situation in Mexico improves so that we can be involved with the distribution of the gifts you have so kindly sent to our friends in Nava. This has been a very unique year for us. We have never encountered so many safety issues working in Mexico. Pastor Santos and the Juan 3:16 Church leaders will help us distribute the gifts. Whether we are there or not, they will receive your gifts, but it is our desire to be there to help. We are looking forward to an update regarding this exciting project in next month’s newsletter.
The Lord continues to bless our work in Haiti. We helped Pastor Peti-Noel build a second floor addition to his school. We also provided funds for the builder to begin the construction of the walls. We are happy to have this project started and look forward to sharing pictures as we receive them and the work progresses.
Our move this year has taken more time than we imagined. Kenny is still building a big rock retention wall for fill dirt. This will give us a flat surface on which to place the second mobile home.
We praise the Lord from Whom all blessings flow. We are blessed by a safe and wonderful year working in Mexico and Haiti. Your outpouring of love has been very exciting and encouraging! We are grateful to each of you for your faithful support through your prayers and financial gifts. May the Lord pour out His love and blessings over your homes and your families in 2012.
Because of Christ,
The Kennedy Family
