Dear Friends in Christ,
"He who has My commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves Me;
and he who loves Me shall be loved by My Father,
and I will love him, and will disclose Myself to him." John 14:21
We praise the Lord for His abundant goodness in our lives. Our family is continually amazed at how the Lord provides for us! We have been offered a home that will meet our needs in a much more practical way. Leaving the ranch and the history we have there was very difficult, to put it mildly, but this move was of the Lord we are sure! Our new location is close to our first Texas home at Singing Hills Ministry. Our savings in fuel alone will be hundreds of dollars a year as we are closer to San Antonio and Mexico. The move has kept us busy packing and unpacking. We still have many boxes to unload and organize, but we are slowly getting settled in. Although we will miss the ranch we are already enjoying our new home. Most of OSM's contact info is the same, just our home/office phone and fax numbers changed.
The sewing ministry has stayed busy with a new project of sewing pilgrim costumes that Sara designed. The ladies in the colonia made about 30 costumes that she will be selling on her blog. The costumes are authentic 1620 dresses for Thanksgiving celebrations, historical events, reenactments and for little girls to play in just for fun. This was a very large undertaking for the ladies as well as Sara. If you would like to see some of the work these ladies have done you can view them on Sara's blog at:
While in Nava, Kenny took Sister Paulina grocery shopping for the Juan 3:16 feeding program. Paulina repeatedly expresses her appreciation to those of you who pray for her and the children and those who financially support this ministry.
It is sad but Nava is not going to stay the small little town we first found almost 10 years ago, and with the growth has come crime. This morning we received a call from Pastor Santos asking for prayer. The schoolyard's chain link fence was cut last night and thieves ripped out a lot of the wiring from the school building. The price of copper is going up faster than gas prices, so copper wire is now a target for thieves. The battery in the church van was stolen as well. Our prayer is that Pastor Santos would find the thieves, because he would show them Christ and bring them to the Lord!
The next step for Santos and Fini to be able to live on the Ranch of Faith is to get electricity to the property. In Mexico the landowner is responsible for the installation of all power poles, transformers, and wire. We have contacted a contractor who has quoted a price of twenty thousand dollars to bring power in one kilometer from the main line on the highway. Six thousand has already been provided. Please pray with us for the provision of these funds. Our hope is to have this done by the end of the year, as the price will surely go up.
We can definitely feel fall in the air here in San Antonio. It's a beautiful time of the year. Yet knowing cold weather is soon to come, we would ask you to once again prayerfully consider purchasing a heater for a family in Nava. Just as the heat is intense in the summer, the cold is very intense in the winter as well, especially when you live on a dirt floor. You could compare it with camping in a tent in the winter, but it's a 24/7 situation for many families. It's especially difficult for us to see the children living in these conditions. A heater can mean so much for a needy family. The cost for a heater and full propane tank is $300.
Thank you all for your kind outpouring of love for the families of Nava. Because of your generosity we look forward to blessing over 20 families so far with heaters this winter. Praise the Lord for His provision!
As we see the needs of the children and families of Mexico and Haiti, it makes us so grateful to our Heavenly Father for His goodness in our lives. We are grateful to each of you for your prayers and financial help. May you see the love of our Father in your lives and homes. We pray your Thanksgiving celebrations with your families are very special as we all praise God from Whom all blessings flow!
Blessings in Christ,
The Kennedy Family
