Dear Friends in Christ,
And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross,
so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness;
for by His wounds you were healed.

~1 Peter 2:24~
We praise our amazing, loving Heavenly Father who paid for our sins through the sacrifice of His Only Son, Jesus Christ. Every day we have much, so much, to be grateful for!
This has been an unusual May for OSM. Kenny has been home (in Texas), which is unusual for him during this month. Having him here, however, has been nice as the work on the F-450 is continuing. We have been blessed by dear friends from our church who provided a great workshop for us to work on the truck. With the unusual amount of rain we had this spring, it’s nice to have a concrete floor and a roof over our heads.
Kenny and I have learned so much with the rebuilding of this large truck. Most of all, we have learned things we should have done differently. The project has proven to take longer and to be more tedious than we anticipated. Considering and weighing all of the options, we still feel this is the best decision for our transportation needs in Haiti. One of the many advantages to this truck is Kenny will be able to do repairs in Haiti and we will be able to ship parts to him when they are needed. The Ranger Kenny has been using for the last several years was built in Thailand and parts are not only hard to come by, but also very expensive. Although we would much rather be currently spending our time in Haiti, our need for reliable transportation has been a difficulty and a hindrance long enough. We are looking forward to seeing the plans God has in store for us with this truck when it reaches Haiti. It will enable us to visit villages with supplies and the good news of the gospel. We will also be able to host teams who will work with us to touch even more hearts for Christ. We are very close to finishing up this truck project and to crank it up for the first time. Please be in prayer with us as all of the final pieces come together. Pray with us that God’s hand is over every detail. Also, please consider praying about offering assistance with this project. The truck is not quite completely funded.
Micah, Holly and their children had an exciting trip to the Dominican Republic last month. While there they met with 3 children and the families whom they have been sponsoring. It’s a joy to watch our grandchildren reach out in love with a heart to share Jesus with others. Even little Jack was able to share joy with a new friend as he learned that trucks make the same sounds in every language. He enjoyed sharing Bible story books, little trucks and playing tag with his new friends. They all thoroughly enjoyed the Dominican Republic and we are praying about the possibility of doing more ministry there in the future.
Debbi and I enjoyed a quick trip to Puerto Rico this month. We loved hearing a first-hand account from the grandchildren about their time in the Dominican Republic. It has been a difficult transition for us having them so far away. We always enjoy any time we get to spend together. Micah and Holly are enjoying island living and the children are all growing up much too fast.
This 31st of May makes 11 years since our sweet Shelby went Home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ. She is missed so much! Not a day goes by we don’t remember her for the love she had for people whether it was family, Haitians, Mexicans, or people in general. Her life touched the lives of so many. Debbi and I could not think of a more wonderful and encouraging way for her to be remembered than through the National Bible Bee. She loved children and God’s Word and she always wanted people to see Jesus in her life. We thank the Lord for this amazing ministry which is ongoing and touches many young people across our nation. If you would like to learn more about it, go to BibleBee.org.
Every good thing bestowed and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation, or shifting shadow. (James 1:17) Along with the continued funding for the F-450, we hope to finish raising the $10,000 for the purchase of the Nissan in Haiti. We are encouraged to report $6,325.00 has been provided so far. We praise the Lord for His provision. We also want to thank those of you who have prayed about the project as well as those who contributed toward this very helpful vehicle.
We are grateful to the Lord and you for the many opportunities He gives us to share His love at home, in Haiti and Mexico. May His Son be honored and glorified through OSM! Praying His mercies upon you and your families.
Because of Christ,
