Rejoice always; pray without ceasing; in everything give thanks;
for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

~1 Thessalonians 5:16-18~
Dear Friends in Christ,
We praise the Lord that the atmosphere in Nava and surrounding towns has been better this month. The presence of the Mexican Marines is keeping things more peaceful for the people who live there. Please continue to pray for Mexico and the difficulties the people are facing daily.
After almost 14 years of living in Texas, the Kennedy family finally owns Texas soil! Well, it’s mostly rock, very little actual dirt, but as realtors put it, “beautiful views”! We are very excited to have property and have a great deal of work ahead to get moved by mid-August, Lord willing. Our plans are to attempt to set up the same living situation which we have currently. We are very grateful and blessed by the Lord’s wonderful provisions for our family!
This week 2 missionary families used the guest house. We were so blessed to meet Micah and Amy Tuttle and their family. They live in a remote area of Peru and have many interesting stories to share about their exciting lives walking with Christ there. The second family we hosted were our dear friends, Pastor Isidro, Flory and their sons. We enjoyed their short visit and hearing about what the Lord is doing in Reynosa, Mexico. The Lord has been bringing many couples with marital problems to Pastor Isidro’s church for counseling and this week-end they will be ministering to many such needs. A local attorney sends all his clients who are seeking divorce to Pastor Isidro for counseling before he will work with them. Most of those marriages have remained together and are now attending their church. Praise the Lord. Their eldest son, Eleazor, is remaining here for a month. He wants to be more fluent in English as well as spend some time with us.
Pastor Santos and Fini remain busy with their 4 churches. He is continually on the go caring for the needs of the members. He ministers faithfully to families who have lost loved ones in this dangerous situation. Many people have just disappeared over these past months.
Toncho and Lety are extra busy teaching in the Carpenter Shop and the Dorcas House. A desperate situation with the young people in the colonia is their vulnerability to what appears to be a quick way to make lots of money, or sometimes a guarantee that their family will not be harmed. This makes us realize how important these ministries are in the colonia. They continue to reach out to the youth in the area to give them encouragement, stability, and Biblical teaching. Many of these children are missing this teaching and love in their lives at home.
This month marked six years since our precious daughter, Shelby Kay, went Home to be with the One we serve, Jesus Christ. She is beholding Him face to face. One day for all of us, ‘It will be worth it all, when we see Jesus’. He is good, no matter what our surrounding circumstances.
We are so grateful to Him for you, our faithful friends, prayer warriors and financial supporters. May He encourage and strengthen you daily as you walk through difficulties and good times, often at the same time. He is our reason for living!!
Because of Christ,
The Kennedy Family
~Prayer Needs~
Pray for God’s continued provision for the expansion of Toncho’s home with a bathroom and kitchen.
Please pray with us for the Lord’s direction for our family as we have many decisions about our home in Texas as well as the ministry in Nava.
Pray for Toncho and Lety as they are working in extreme heat physically and spiritually.
In July we plan to help Pastor Santos’ church and Pastor Isidro’s church with food and supplies for Bible Schools. Also we would like to donate Bibles for children and for evangelism which goes on simultaneously. If you would like to help with the cost of Bibles or supplies, please do. (The cost of a case of hardback Bibles is $135)
