Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, the God who is our salvation.
~Psalm 68:19~
Dear Friends in Christ,
How wonderful to have our daughter, Sara, her husband Joel, and their precious little Suzanna, join us in Nava this month! They enjoyed introducing Suzanna to their friends, who have been looking forward to meeting her for quite a while. Some of their stops included Lydia’s home project, the Ranch of Faith, and visiting Lety and the girls at the Dorcas House. Lety invited Sara and Joel to come to her home one morning so that she could show them some improvements she had made. Though her home is spacious, she has very little protection from the outside elements since her house is put together with pieces of pallets, cardboard, tarps, and wood. We believe that she would be a great candidate for a home by a team one day.
With the Lord’s help we are very excited to be moving forward with the home for Poncho and Sister Lydia. We are grateful for your outpouring of love and support for this dear couple. Because of this, we were able to begin reconstruction of their home this month. Our friend, Oscar, along with Kenny, Micah, and Ken and a few other helpers, worked very hard on the house. They were able to lay the blocks up to the roof, install the windows and doors, rough in the electricity and plumbing, complete the roof over the bathroom and porch, and pour the floor.
Each day we met more of Lydia’s family as her grandchildren would come by for a visit. One of her grandson’s, 12 year old Juan Pablo, helped on her house when and where he could. Talking to Sister Lydia one afternoon, she expressed her deep appreciation for her new home. She said that she feels as if this is a palace for her. This can be very humbling, as her whole home is only a little larger than our master bed and bathroom. Praise the Lord, it is uplifting to be around people who are so encouraged by the ministry of O.S.M.!
It’s always good to visit with Ramiro and Maria. We praise the Lord for his continuous provision through you to purchase meds for their son Jesus each month to help keep him stable and to avoid seizures. We visit this precious family often delivering the prescriptions and other needed items. Jesus had a cold this last time which made him a little quieter than usual. They showed us their garden where they are growing onions and cilantro under assorted fruit trees. Ramiro keeps his yard filled with cuttings of different plants and trees. He has a real gift for agricultural projects. Maria always has a big smile and loves to tell us how Jesus is doing. They remain a blessing and dear friends to our family.
Our son Micah finished an EMT-Basic course this month and passed his state and national exams. We are so happy that he did very well in his class. He hopes to begin some college courses soon. Since he would like to work in the medical field, we felt working as an EMT would be a great place to begin and gain experience with emergency situations.
Over the past few months we have tried to be more careful while traveling in Mexico. A couple of months ago a dear friend donated a 1991 Ford Explorer for our use while in Nava. He and our boys have spent several weeks making the car more mechanically sound. This month we were able to take this car down and use it quite a bit in traveling back and forth to the job site. We are very grateful for this gift as we blend in with others around us better.
Thank you for your love, prayers, and faithfulness to our family and O.S.M. Please continue to pray for our wonderful Brothers and Sisters in Christ in Mexico. Pray for our precious school children, the pastors we work with and Lussade in Haiti, as well. They face day to day problems that are unimaginable to us. Haiti is supposed to have elections in March, this can be a tense time. Also, the general state of the country is not well. Please, pray the Lord’s wisdom and protection over these dear friends. We ask for His sweet love, peace and protection over you and your families.
Because of Christ,
The Kennedy Family
