Dear Friends in Christ,
Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth. Serve the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful singing. ~Psalm 100: 1-2
We were so pleased that Joel and Sara came to Nava for a few days this month. Most of all, we are elated that we have a new Grandbaby on the way! The Lord willing, the arrival will be late December. Sara and Joel came down to see some of their Nava friends and the work going on at the Dorcas House. Sara was impressed with the craft and sewing projects that Leti has designed for the girls. We are grateful for Leti and for Toncho who teaches boys in the carpenter shop. They have been a blessing with their willing hearts to spend time with these young people encouraging them to develop a relationship with Christ.
Oscar did more concrete and stucco work on the caretaker house this month. A chimney was built for the wood stove that will be used for heat. Ken, Kenny, and Micah worked on the roof for the front porch. The temperatures in Nava escalated this month reaching 105 degrees daily! Working on a tin roof made the days seem even hotter.
Pastor Santos and Sister Fini will be living in the caretaker house until their home is complete. This will bring them to the ranch and much closer to the colonia where they work almost every day. Eventually, when their home on the ranch is finished, another family will move into the caretaker house to provide security for the property.
We have ordered and received supplies from 'Art For The Nations' for Sister Fini's annual Bible school held in July. Children from the Juan 3:16 Church and the surrounding colonias will attend. This year she anticipates that 200 children will attend.
~Praise and Prayer Requests~
We praise the Lord for the progress of the caretaker house so far. Our next steps will be windows, doors, rough in wiring and rough in for the cooling system. Please pray for its continued progress. Pastor Santos is getting excited and wants to start building the chicken pens!
We praise the Lord that Jesús' meds are fully covered now. We continue to check on him and his family and they seem to be doing very well. Receiving the meds regularly, allows Jesús to do much better physically. His dad, Ramiro, is a farmer. He grows many kinds of vegetables and fruit trees. They shared some delicious peaches, figs and grapes with us this month.
Sister Fini has asked for prayer support during the VBS the Juan 3:16 church is holding July 13-18. Please pray for the children's hearts to be softened toward the Lord and open to learn more about Him.
You may remember Pedro and Olivia from the February newsletter. They had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. This month Pedro suffered a mild stroke. Pedro is a tremendous blessing to the Juan 3:16 church and shares testimonies of the Lord's goodness in his life often. Please pray for his health to be completely restored.
In 2003 the Lord allowed us to build a home for Julia, who had just given birth to twins. This month she came to our home and humbly expressed the need for groceries and some school supplies. Praise the Lord for the available funds so we could meet those needs. She also asked about shoes for her 4 younger children. We measured the children's feet and will return in July with the shoes. Thank you for helping us meet these kinds of needs on a monthly basis!
Please continue to pray with us concerning OSM's monthly obligations. This month we felt it important to give Toncho a much needed raise. Even with the raise, Toncho makes the equivalent of $1.53 an hour. His support has not been covered since the beginning of the year, but praise the Lord he has not missed a payday. Please pray for the continued provision of all of OSM's monthly obligations.
Thank you all for your love and prayers! And thank you for helping us with the vision God has given us. It is such an honor and privilege to have you stand with us in these economic hard times. We pray continually for spiritual strength and that we are worthy of your trust and support.
Because of Christ,
The Kennedy Family
